Our latest Open Day event was at Rissne Sports Center where we offered free training to newly arrived kids, aged 10-17 years old.

The John Guidetti Foundation undertook this initiative in Rissne because it is the area where John Guidetti spent a lot of time growing up playing football with his friends. All the newly arrived youth that showed the will to go the extra mile and follow in John Guidetti's footsteps were provided first class training with skilled coaches and given an introduction to the mindset of what it takes to become a professional football player. Our coaches will welcome back players that showed the same dedication to hard work in training as John Guidetti did playing football in Rissne.

ABOUT the Foundation

The Guidetti Foundation is the charity foundation of the Real Club de Celta Vigo and Swedish International team player John Guidetti. Although Swedish, John Guidetti’s paternal grandfather came from Italy and his great grandfather has Brazilian roots, he has lived twice in Kenya when his family worked with a Swedish school project in Nairobi.

John credits a lion share of his football achievements playing with older kids in the poorer slum areas of Kibera and Mathare, Nairobi as one important step in his football development.

Helping young talented people in all walks of life is something that is very close to John Guidetti’s personal concerns. Therefore John Guidetti is now initiating the John Guidetti Foundation to support talented young people, which share the same passion for football, by giving them a sporting chance to follow in his footsteps by supporting them in their strive to achieve a professional footballing success.
